EMIT Water Discharge Technology was founded in 2002 to provide water treatment solutions for produced water for the Coal Bed Methane (CBM) operators in the Powder River Basin of Wyoming. Our success has been phenomenal and quickly moved us into a larger geographic area and other technologies. EMIT’s platform technology is the Higgins Loop countercurrent ion exchange unit that is a proven, economical and efficient process for the treatment of produced waters without the generation of hazardous wastes or large by-product streams. We are currently operating in Montana, Wyoming and Colorado. New areas of development are New Mexico, Canada and Australia. EMIT owns and operates the complete system.
